PICASSO PORTRAITS

Room 11 looked at Picasso's Blue period. It was a time that he used blues and greens to show how sad he felt. We tried to make our faces look sad and reflective by using those colours and by showing expression in our faces.

Happy Easter from Room 11

Team certificates for Week 7

Well done for the tamariki chosen for respecting others by moving calmly in our learning spaces.

Sunday 11 March 2018

Team Two have been learning to write narrative stories.  These three examples were written by Room 13 students.

All stories were about waking up and discovering you had wings.

Lily-Belle

It was a lovely summer Saturday morning.  The light was shining and all I wanted to do was sleep in of course.  Suddenly my bed felt weird. I lifted the covers. I had wings. They were light blue with purple spots.  My rats were stirring like it was normal.

I screamed.  I did not know what to do.  Then I went to go and have my shower. When the water touched my wings they went away.  I dried myself and they came back.  I tried to put my clothes on. After I put my clothes on I went out for breakfast with a flutter in my step trying to hide my wings.

I got full half way through my breakfast so I gave the rest to my rats ( Twich and Skwick).  I got them out for a play. Twich and Skwick pointed to my phone so I googled wings.  I realised that if a rat likes your wings they will go for 10 000 years.  So I put a pea on my wings and the rats liked them and my wings went away.

I gave my rats a big hug and some dinner. I let them sleep in my bed.

Micah

One morning I woke up. I felt something funny.  I looked in the mirror and I had wings. It was the best day of my life.

I went outside and I started to fly.  I came crashing down and then my mum was wondering where I was.  I said, "Here I am." The wings started to pull me back to my home. When my mum saw me she said, "Where have you been?" "Look I've got wings!"  I landed in my bed again and again and again and again.

Arthur

When I woke up I saw I had some wings.  I stood up. Wow! I have wings but how do I fly?  "Mum I have wings."

It was hard for me to fly so I got a book.  I saw this page.  If you have wings and you don't know how to fly this is the page for you.  First you think you're flying. Wow, it works!  "Guys, look shhhhhhhhh.

It was fun. but I needed to get off.  Then I said to myself, "Maybe I can be a fairy, cool. A crowd of people came. "Hello we want wings."
